Murrell Associates now advising on Irish law

22nd March 2016

Murrell Associates Limited is delighted to announce that Chris Wills, director of corporate and Jenny Harbord, Head of Renewable Energy, have both obtained dual qualification under English and Irish (Republic of Ireland) law and hold current practising certificates for both jurisdictions.

This news will be of interest to renewable energy developers now searching out sites within the Republic of Ireland who wish to take advantage of Murrell Associates’ considerable experience and expertise on renewable energy projects within England and Wales, recognised by the “Legal 500”.

Chris and Jenny have already provided advice under Irish law to existing clients investing in the emergent solar photovoltaic market in Ireland and are happy to assist other developers interested in this market. If required, we can also provide consultancy services to local Irish firms who wish to expand their knowledge of this industry.

Jenny Harbord stated “even before the publication of the Irish government’s latest white paper on renewable energy, the firm sought to position itself to be able to advise on Irish law. This was to some extent a gamble but it has already paid off with clients investing in this new market, who are very happy that we could be retained to give them the “added value” of our renewable energy experience in the context of Irish law.”

Chris adds “Our renewable energy clients appreciate the fact that we know their industry and are ahead of the game. Obtaining dual qualification in Irish law in order to meet a new market is just another example of Murrell Associates’ forward thinking and “go getting” approach. We are very excited by the potential of this new opportunity.”
