Founders Tim Bawden and George Parry say mahalo to their Hawaiian themed restaurant on Discovery Quay, Falmouth to Harbour Lights Cornwall Group.
Established in 2021 on the site of the former Stein’s champagne and seafood restaurant in Falmouth’s Discovery Quay, Kona’s Pacific inspired interior and curated menu has delivered the après-sea beers, bowls and beats experience for students, visitors and locals alike.
The transaction sees the buyer make a lateral step away from their renowned high street fish and chips offering into a themed bar and restaurant, a concept they will be retaining.
Kona’s director, George Parry said:
“Building the Kona brand from scratch has been an amazing experience for Tim and I, a challenge made so much easier with the support of our amazing team and the community in Discovery Quay.
We’re delighted to pass on a profitable business to experienced and forward-looking operators in the Frasers who can take the concept to new heights.”
On the support from Murrell Associates, George went on to say:
“Dealing with Megan and David was straightforward and drama-free. Their knowledge of us, our business and the marketplace gave Tim and I the platform to make sure that we were able to get the sale through in time for Pete’s team to be in place ahead of the Easter trade.”
