Deal struck for Cornwall communications firm

A Cornwall-headquartered communications firm has been acquired by an expanding marketing agency as part of an “exciting new chapter” for the business as it continues its expansion.

Founded in 2002, Barefoot Media works across PR, social media, email marketing and website content, among other specialisms.

It has been snapped up by B-Corp firm Voice Communications, which has offices in Essex and Cornwall, as well as a hub in Bristol.

The like-minded agencies share similar values, with Voice being the “obvious custodian” for the brand. With the inclusion of three Barefoot team members, Voice’s services are set to expand to include email marketing and SEO work.

Jim Michell, managing director of Barefoot Media, said: “It was hugely important to me that I found the right business to take over Barefoot, our team and our clients. It was essential that the new owner would be a like-minded agency which shared our values and ethos, and I have found that in Voice.

“I’m so proud of everything our team has achieved over the years, and I’m excited to see what they will go on to do in the future as part of a B-Corp accredited company with the fantastic team at Voice.”

Nichola Cain, managing director of Voice Communications, added: “Welcoming the Barefoot team to Voice is an important milestone for Voice. We are excited to be continuing the great work that Jim and his fantastic team have carried out over the years and begin this new chapter.
